Why author Yu Hua names the novel "To Live"?
I think Yu Hua names the book "To Live" is because Fugui loses everything, including all his family members and close friends. The bereavement by the cruel reality has left nothing to him, and all he can do is to live. Yu hua is telling us that no matter how hard the life treats us, but the hope to live is one thing that we should never lose.

I think that the title presents the idea that there are always reasons "to live" even if one believes they're hitting rock bottom. It says that living is a greater accomplishment than dying and one will not be able to succeed in anything if they do not live.
